How to Measure Square Footage
For a rectangular room, multiply length by width. For irregular rooms, divide the space into rectangles, calculate each section separately, and add them together. Measure from wall to wall at the longest points, and don't subtract for closets or alcoves unless you specifically need the open floor area.
