Why Add a Waste Factor?

Flooring always requires more material than the room's net square footage. Cuts at walls, borders, and corners generate offcuts. Diagonal or herringbone installs waste significantly more. A 10% waste factor is standard for most straightforward rectangular rooms with a straight lay pattern. Always order more than you think you need — buying from the same dye lot later is often impossible, and prices change.
